 Thomas Sumter Academy's game  last Friday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them  on Thursday. They never let the Florence Christian Eagles onto the board and left with  a   6-0  win. The result was nothing new for Thomas Sumter Academy, who have now won four matchups by six  runs or more  so far this season.
  Kason Carter made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she  didn't allow a single  earned run and  only one  hit while striking out 12 over seven innings pitched. Carter has been consistent recently: she hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in four consecutive pitching appearances. Carter was also big at the plate,  going 2-for-4 with a  home run, two  runs,  and two  RBI.
 In other batting news,  Lila Kate Stines and  Ryann Stokes did most of the damage at the plate:  Stines  scored a  run while going 2-for-4, while  Stokes  went 3-for-3 with two  RBI.  Amy Spivey was another key contributor,  scoring a  run while going 1-for-2.
 Thomas Sumter Academy's victory bumped their record up to 8-4. As for Florence Christian, they are  on  a  five-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 3-9.
 Thomas Sumter Academy will be playing at home against Marlboro Academy at 5:30  p.m.  on Monday. Marlboro Academy knows how to get  runs on the board -- the  team has finished with flashy  run totals in its past three contests -- so hopefully Thomas Sumter Academy likes a good challenge. As for Florence Christian, they will head out on the road to  take on  Pee Dee Academy at 6:30  p.m.  on Monday. Pee Dee Academy will roll in looking for their  fourth straight  win, something Florence Christian surely won't give up without a fight.
