Piedmont has gone 8-0 against Central Academy recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Piedmont Panthers challenge the Central Academy Cougars at 6:00 p.m. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Piedmont is headed into the match out to prove that what happened against Forest Hills on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Piedmont had to suffer through a 55-19 loss at the hands of Forest Hills. The Panthers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 30-9.

Meanwhile, Central Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 34th straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a hard 44-26 fall against Anson.

This is the second loss in a row for Piedmont and nudges their season record down to 5-8. As for Central Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 0-12.

Everything came up roses for Piedmont against Central Academy in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, as the team secured a 70-33 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Piedmont since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
