Volleyball Recap: Waunakee's Victory on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Five

Waunakee came tearing into Saturday's match with four straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Plainfield Central Wildcats by a score of 2-0. The Warriors have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Wildcats, too.

While Waunakee won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 27-25.

Kyleigh Knutson paced Waunakee's offense, picking up six kills. Knutson got some help from Amy Denkert and her 16 assists. Kaia Schroeder controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Waunakee's win bumped their record up to 36-7. As for Plainfield Central, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-20 record this season.

Waunakee has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 loss against Marist on the 18th. As for Plainfield Central, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 defeat against Nazareth Academy on the 18th.
