Softball Preview: Howell Highlanders vs. Canton Chiefs
Howell has been on the road for five straight, but on Monday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Canton Chiefs at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
Last Wednesday, Howell had just enough and edged Plymouth out 4-2.
Howell's victory was truly a team effort as eight different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Ava Bunting, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.
Meanwhile, Canton entered their tilt with Milford with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-1 win over the Mavericks on Saturday.
Howell now has a winning record of 8-7-1. As for Canton, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-6-1 record this season.
