Softball Recap: Spring Creek Takes a Loss

Spring Creek extended their losing streak to four on Friday, dropping them down to 8-9. They lost 14-2 to the Fernley Vaqueros. If the Spartans were looking for revenge after losing 14-1 to the Vaqueros when the teams met back in April of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Spring Creek saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brinlee LeDuc, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

As for Fernley, their victory bumped their record up to 13-5. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten games by six runs or more this season.

On Fernley's side, Janessa Robinson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on three hits. Robinson has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 12 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Taylor Tollestrup was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three stolen bases, and three runs. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 1.1 stolen bases per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Ximena Rodriguez, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Fernley beat Spring Creek by a score of 10-0 on Saturday.
