Football Recap: Sierra Takes a Loss

Sierra extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 2-5. They were beaten by the Manteca Buffaloes 74-7. While losing is never fun, the Timberwolves can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 663rd, while the Buffaloes are ranked 29th).

As for Manteca, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 6-0. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 43.0 points this season.

Nikko Juarez continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 126 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only six carries. He got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 92 yards. Quinn Martinez got in on the action too, returning a kick for a touchdown.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Sierra will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Patterson at 5:00 p.m. on the 17th. As for Manteca, they will venture away from home to square off against Mountain House at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Buffaloes will be up against the Mustangs' rather soft defense (which has allowed 31.57 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
