Will Pyburn and Jared Akins provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Mary Star of the Sea. The connection was good for 84 yards, the longest such play in Del Rey this season.

La Salle was the team that made the biggest jump in the rankings, moving from third to first in the league. The Lancers defeated the Stars 51-20 earlier in the week.

La Salle's dynamic duo of Pyburn and Akins proved tough for Mary Star of the Sea to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Pyburn threw for 218 yards and 4 touchdowns and Akins had 174 yards receiving. Isiah Spencer-Lopez helped La Salle's passing attack out by catching 4 balls for 46 yards.

He went 9-13 with 0 interceptions.

David LaSalle was a key player and the best on defense this week as Russell Gordon's team defeated Mike Marinkovich's team. The 6-foot-0 defensive end forced 1 fumble.

6-foot-4 quarterback Steven Chavez of St. Bernard is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1,193. He has also thrown 14 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Chase Busse. The Cantwell-Sacred Heart star has 38 catches for 504 yards.

The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place La Salle takes on second place Bishop Montgomery.

Fans will be thrilled by an exciting game in the secondary when Cantwell-Sacred Heart's Busse goes up against Verbum Dei's Tyler Frey.
