Football Recap: Summer Creek Skates Past Spring with Ease + How To Watch

Summer Creek won the last time they faced Spring and things went their way on Thursday too. The Bulldogs simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Lions 78-0. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as the Bulldogs just coasted through the last quarter.

Summer Creek's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Noah Spinks, who threw for 252 yards and five touchdowns while completing 90.9% of his passes. Another pass catcher making a difference was Benny Easter Jr., who picked up 132 receiving yards and three TDs.

Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Summer Creek proved: they limited Spring to a paltry -0.8 yards per carry. While three picked up at least four total tackles, Amontre Harris stood above the rest. He picked up a sack, made four total tackles (2.0 for loss), and defended one pass. Summer Creek didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged seven.

Special teams was a major factor in the game for Summer Creek, racking up 18 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Trenton Thomas, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.

The victory was the third in a row for Summer Creek, bringing their record up to 3-0. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 57.7 points this season. As for Spring, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Summer Creek and Spring will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next matches. The next time the Bulldogs see the field they'll take on Channelview at 7:00 p.m. on the 26th. As for Spring, their break will end when they face Westfield at 7:00 p.m. on the 26th.
