Baseball Recap: Lawrence Comes Up Short

Bangor hit Lawrence with a five-run third inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Tigers fell just short of the Vikings by a score of 9-8. The loss continues a trend for the Tigers in their meetings with the Vikings: they've now lost four in a row.

Stephen Pavelick and Jake Theragene stepped up to the plate in a big way. Pavelick got on base in all four of his plate appearances with four stolen bases and three runs, while Theragene went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Theragene has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times he's played. Another player making a difference was Karter Everhart, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs.

Lawrence's record is now 5-16-1. As for Bangor, with the victory, they broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 10-12-1.

While Lawrence had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
