Softball Recap: Roosevelt Comes Up Short

Roosevelt managed to slip by Minneapolis Southwest the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Teddies lost 12-2 to the Lakers on Monday. The Teddies were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lakers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Brooklyn Erickson was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Cruz Pastrana also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

This is the second loss in a row for Roosevelt and nudges their season record down to 3-8. As for Minneapolis Southwest, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-6.

Coming up, Roosevelt will take on Blake at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Teddies' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bears have averaged an impressive 8 runs per game this season. As for Minneapolis Southwest, they will be playing at home against Richfield at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
