Softball Recap: Westwood Takes a Loss

For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last four times Westwood and Buffalo have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Tuesday. The Panthers came up short against the Bison, falling 20-5. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bison this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 18-0 back in March.

Westwood dropped their record down to 1-11 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Buffalo, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 10-10.

Looking ahead, Westwood will look to defend their home field on Friday against Elkhart at 6:00 p.m. The Panthers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Elks have averaged an impressive 11.8 runs per game this season. As for Buffalo, they are taking a road trip to square off against Mexia at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bison are facing the Black Cats at the right time seeing as the Black Cats are stuck on a nine-game losing streak.
