Baseball Game Preview: Pocomoke Warriors vs. Mardela Warriors

Pocomoke hasn't had much luck against Mardela recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. Pocomoke will square off against Mardela at 4:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.

As a matter of fact, Pocomoke put up the most runs they have all season on Wednesday. They walked away with an 11-6 victory over Kent County. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since April 17, 2019, but that streak is no more.

Meanwhile, Mardela had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13.6 runs) and they went ahead and made it six on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Colonels by a score of 10-6.

Mardela's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-1. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 18.7 runs over those games. As for Pocomoke, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

Pocomoke might still be hurting after the 19-5 defeat they got from Mardela in their previous meeting two weeks ago. Can Pocomoke avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
