Reno takes loss despite strong efforts from Yolanda Reyes and Natalia Schettler

Recap: Reno Huskies vs. Spanish Springs Cougars

The Reno Huskies suffered their biggest loss since December 27, 2023 on Friday. They were the victim of a tough 48-24 loss at the hands of Spanish Springs. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss Reno has suffered against Spanish Springs since February 11, 2020.

Despite the defeat, Reno had strong showings from Natalia Schettler, who scored six points along with 15 rebounds, and Yolanda Reyes, who scored two points.

Spanish Springs found their leader in underclassman Aaliyah Vance, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Reese Wakefield, who scored no points along with seven steals.

Reno has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-9 record this season. As for Spanish Springs, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-9 record this season.

Reno will head out on the road to face off against Douglas at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Douglas is coming into the game hot, having won their last seven games. As for Spanish Springs, they will be playing at home against Carson at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Carson focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Friday.
