Baseball Recap: North Hollywood Gets the Win

North Hollywood won the last time they faced Verdugo Hills and things went their way on Thursday too. The Huskies came out on top against the Dons by a score of 7-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Huskies.

Hayden Crawford spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on six hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Mateo Pignotti, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. He has become a key player for North Hollywood: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 8-9 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Alexander Munoz, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

North Hollywood's win bumped their record up to 11-9. As for Verdugo Hills, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season.

The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Huskies 3.8, the Parrots 3.6) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Verdugo Hills will square off against rival Sylmar at 3:30 p.m. on Monday.
