Baseball Game Preview: Glendale Vikings vs. Juniata Valley Hornets

Glendale is 2-8 against Juniata Valley since April of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Vikings will face off against the Hornets at 4:30 p.m. Glendale has given up an average of 13.4 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Glendale is headed into Monday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their sixth straight game on Thursday. They lost 18-3 to Portage.

Glendale saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brody Matish, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one run.

Bellwood-Antis hit Juniata Valley with a eight-run seventh inning on Saturday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Hornets came up short against the Blue Devils, falling 15-6. The defeat continues a trend for the Hornets in their meetings with the Blue Devils: they've now lost four in a row.

Vincent Hoover and Ethan Scalia stepped up to the plate in a big way. Hoover went 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double, while Scalia went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Glendale's loss dropped their record down to 1-17. As for Juniata Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-6.

Glendale might still be hurting after the 22-5 loss they got from Juniata Valley in their previous meeting back in March. Can the Vikings avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
