Softball Recap: Fergus Falls Otters vs. Alexandria Cardinals
Fergus Falls had lost five straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 0-3 to make it six. They lost 12-2 to the Alexandria Cardinals. The Otters were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cardinals apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.
As for Alexandria, their victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 4-2. The result was nothing new for the Cardinals, who have now won three matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.
For Alexandria's part, Lauren Goetsch was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched.
