Basketball Recap: Surry County Comes Up Short

After flying high against Appomattox Regional Governor's Arts & Tech last Tuesday, Surry County came back down to earth. The Surry County Cougars lost 53-30 to the Sussex Central Tigers on Wednesday. Sadly, that's the third time they've come up short against the Cougars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 52-34 last Tuesday.

Surry County's defeat dropped their record down to 1-16. As for Sussex Central, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-5.

The future could be bright for both Surry County and Sussex Central: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. Surry County will look to extend Appomattox Regional Governor's Arts & Tech's 11-game losing streak when the meet at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Sussex Central will try to hand Brunswick their third-straight loss when the two meet at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
