Volleyball Recap: Atkins Comes Up Short

Atkins managed to slip by Dover the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Red Devils lost 3-0 to the Pirates on Thursday. The Red Devils' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it five in a row.

Atkins was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Dover work for it, especially in the first set. The final score came out to 26-24, 25-12, 25-13.

Early Jackson was nothing short of spectacular for Dover: she had 25 digs and two aces. The dominant performance also gave Jackson a new career-high in assists (seven). Bella Lester also deserves some recognition as she had her first kills of the season.

Atkins' defeat dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Dover, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-15.

As of now, neither Atkins nor the Pirates have any future games scheduled.
