Basketball Game Preview: Cistercian Hawks vs. Fort Worth Country Day Falcons

It'll be a Battle of the Birds when the Cistercian Hawks challenge the Fort Worth Country Day Falcons at 7:30 p.m. on Friday... Cistercian has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Cistercian played in conference for the first time on Tuesday and they got just the result they we're looking for. They enjoyed a cozy 60-43 win over Trinity Valley.

Fort Worth Country Day has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They had to suffer through a 77-38 loss at the hands of Greenhill. While losing is never fun, the Falcons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 322nd, while the Hornets are ranked 49th).

Cistercian pushed their record up to 10-12 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.7 points per game. As for Fort Worth Country Day, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-6.

Cistercian strolled past Fort Worth Country Day in their previous meeting back in January of 2024 by a score of 48-33. The rematch might be a little tougher for Cistercian since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
