2025 New Jersey Preseason MaxPreps Top 25 high school football rankings

Four-time defending state champion Bergen Catholic opens at No. 1.

The high school football season in New Jersey kicks off later this month and we have your look at the state's top teams. Four-time defending state champion Bergen Catholic (Oradell) owns the No. 1 spot in the Preseason MaxPreps Top 25.

The Crusaders begin the season ranked No. 20 nationally and went 11-1 last season while winning the Non-Public A state championship.

Seniors Jordan Thomas (6-1, 185, CB), Jermaine Kinsler (6-7, 260, QB, Texas A&M commitment), Xavier Jackson (6-1, 185, CB, North Carolina) and Najee Calhoun (5-10, 180, RB) lead the way for Bergen Catholic.

In addition to Bergen Catholic, defending state champions include DePaul Catholic (Wayne, N.J.) in Non-Public B, Glassboro (Glassboro) in Group 1, Rumson-Fair Haven (Rumson) in Group 2, Northern Valley Regional-Old Tappan (Old Tappan) in Group 3, Winslow Township (Atco) in Group 4 and Toms River North (Toms River) in Group 5.
