It was a good run, but Gross Catholic unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Saturday. They received a blow as they fell 56-39 to the York Dukes.

York's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Lainey Portwine led the charge by shooting 4-for-6 from long range and almost dropping a double-double with 16 points and nine rebounds. What's more, Portwine also posted a 67% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest she's achieved since back in December of 2023. Another player making a difference was Chloe Koch, who posted 15 points and five steals.

Gross Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 18-6. As for York, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-3 record this season.

As of now, neither Gross Catholic nor York have any future games scheduled.
