Spring Valley has gone 8-2 against St. Albans recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Spring Valley Timberwolves are taking a road trip to take on the St. Albans Red Dragons at 7:00 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Spring Valley took a loss when they played away from home back in December of 2024, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They blew past Huntington 65-28. Given the Timberwolves 's advantage in MaxPreps' West Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked fourth, while the Highlanders are ranked 74th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, St. Albans posted their biggest victory since February 1, 2024 on Saturday. They were the clear victor by a 51-25 margin over Lincoln. The Red Dragons pushed the score to 38-16 by the end of the third, a deficit the Cougars had little chance of recovering from.

Spring Valley better focus on containing Jaycee Elzy and Samyah Riggan as the pair were huge in St. Albans' win. Elzy went 10 for 20 en route to 25 points and seven steals, while Riggan posted 13 points in addition to eight steals and six boards. The match was Elzy's sixth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Triniti Austin-Russell, who had eight points and six rebounds.

St. Albans smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive boards in eight consecutive games.

Spring Valley's win was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-2. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.3 points per game. As for St. Albans, their victory bumped their record up to 6-2.

Spring Valley strolled past St. Albans in their previous matchup back in February of 2024 by a score of 52-38. The rematch might be a little tougher for Spring Valley since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
