Grandview faced Cherry Creek in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Wolves put the hurt on the Bruins with a sharp 33-7 victory. The Wolves might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by 20 points or more this season.

Grandview's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was K'Dence Thomas, who picked up 48 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Abby Kirkpatrick also deserves a mention for her punt return touchdown.

Another reason for the win was Grandview's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for ten sacks. Jayden Schwabauer was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up eight herself.

Grandview pushed their record up to 11-3 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 5.2 points on average over those games. As for Cherry Creek, they moved to 9-4 with that loss, which also ended their six-game winning streak.

Grandview wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 32-0 victory against Mullen on the 9th. As for Cherry Creek, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 19-14 defeat against Douglas County on the 11th.
