Baseball Game Preview: Denbigh Patriots vs. Heritage Hurricanes

For the second straight game, Denbigh will face off against Heritage. Denbigh will head out on the road to square off against Heritage at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Denbigh is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last three games.

On Tuesday, Denbigh made easy work of Heritage and carried off a 13-2 win. Fans of the Patriots have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.

Russel Clark made a splash no matter where he played. He pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Clark was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing three bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

In other batting news, Jamaal Jones was incredible, scoring a run and stealing three bases while going 3-for-3. Jones is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season. Another player making a difference was Luis Caez-Rodriquez, who scored three runs and stole two bases.

Denbigh was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .417. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .346 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.

Denbigh's record now sits at 3-0. As for Heritage, they dropped their record down to 1-3 with the loss, which was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Heritage's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Denbigh has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 12 hits per game. It's a different story for Heritage, though, as they've been averaging 9.8 hits. Given Denbigh's sizable advantage in that area, Heritage will need to find a way to close that gap.
