Recap: Jenkins Warriors vs. Coffee Trojans
The Jenkins Warriors fell victim to the Coffee Trojans''s stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They had to suffer through a rough 34-0 loss at the hands of the Trojans. While losing is never fun, Jenkins can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 154th, while Coffee is ranked 19th).
Coffee's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Fred Brown led the charge by rushing for 167 yards while picking up 8.8 yards per carry, and also picking up 69 receiving yards. Brown was no stranger to the big play, cutting upfield for a catch that went for 69 yards. Anthony Paulk was another key contributor, gaining 133 total yards and three touchdowns.
Jenkins has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season. As for Coffee, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 9-0.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Jenkins will take on Bradwell Institute at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Coffee, they will be playing at home against Greenbrier at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Greenbrier comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
