The Santana Sultans will challenge the Westview Wolverines at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Santana is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.6 runs per game this season.

Santana is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 victory over Mira Mesa. The win continues a trend for the Sultans in their matchups with the Marauders: they've now won three in a row.

Gabby Sneddon was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Paityn Miller, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one double.

Santana was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. They are undefeated (12-0) when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Westview's offense. They fell 3-0 to Carlsbad on Friday. While getting shut out isn't ideal, the Wolverines haven't been shut out since back in March.

Westview's loss dropped their record down to 18-6-2. As for Santana, their victory bumped their record up to 16-12-1.

Saturday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Santana hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .361. However, it's not like Westview struggles in that department as they've averaged .333. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.

Santana couldn't quite get it done against Westview when the teams last played on Wednesday as they fell 5-1. Can the Sultans avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
