Baseball Recap: Rio Comes Up Short

Parkview hit Rio with a nine-run seventh inning on Saturday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. Rio lost 11-4 to Parkview. Rio was not able to make up for their defeat to Parkview from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

Jackson Shawback made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in three of his four plate appearances with six stolen bases and three runs.

Rio's loss dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Parkview, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-12 record this season.

Rio will host Pardeeville at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Vikings' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bulldogs have averaged an impressive 9.3 runs per game this season. As for Parkview, they will head out to square off against Belleville at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
