Basketball Game Preview: Southern Christian Patriots vs. First Assembly Christian Lions

Having just played yesterday, the Southern Christian Patriots will head out on the road to face off against the First Assembly Christian Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Southern Christian and four for First Assembly Christian.

On Monday, Southern Christian ended up a good deal behind Ezekiel Academy and lost 65-50. The Patriots were down 57-31 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Southern Christian's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Cole Johnson, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 13 boards, and Jedd Scott, who posted 14 points in addition to seven steals and five assists. The dominant performance gave Scott a new career-high in steals.

Meanwhile, First Assembly Christian lost to Brooklane Baptist at home by a 64-45 margin back in December of 2024.

Southern Christian will have to contain Bryce Sasser as he made an impact in First Assembly Christian's last game. He went 7 of 14 on his way to 24 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Garrison Williams, who put up ten points.

First Assembly Christian's loss dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Southern Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.
