Soccer Game Preview: Wilmer-Hutchins vs. Sunnyvale

The Wilmer-Hutchins Eagles will challenge Sunnyvale on Monday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Wilmer-Hutchins is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 5-0 margin over Village Tech. The result was nothing new for Wilmer-Hutchins, who have now won nine matches by three goals or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Sunnyvale won against Caddo Mills two weeks ago with three goals and they decided to stick to that goal total again on Thursday. Sunnyvale had just enough and edged out Farmersville 3-2. Sunnyvale hasn't had any issues with Farmersville recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Christian Hodges and Tyson Smith scored all three of Sunnyvale's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 24 goals.

The win made it two in a row for Wilmer-Hutchins and bumps their season record up to 13-4-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those two contests. As for Sunnyvale, their win bumped their record up to 14-5.
