Volleyball Recap: Monterey Finds Playoff Glory Versus Pioneer

With a playoff win on the line, Monterey rose to the challenge on Monday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Pioneer Mustangs.

Monterey walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the first set). Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 23-25, 25-19, 25-22.

Monterey is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 25-13 record this season. As for Pioneer, the loss snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 17-5 record.

Coming up, Monterey will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Carmel at 6:00 p.m. The Padres will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something the Dores surely won't give up without a fight. Pioneer does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
