Soccer Game Preview: Valley Christian vs. Maranatha

The Valley Christian Defenders will face off against the Maranatha Minutemen at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.

Maranatha better have a healthy lead at halftime, because if last week is any indication, that's when Valley Christian really get things going. Valley Christian put the hurt on Heritage Christian with a sharp 5-1 win on Tuesday. Considering the Defenders' offense had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Meanwhile, Maranatha has been on a difficult stretch since their win on December 27. They and Whittier Christian finished up their matchup with a 1-1 draw on Tuesday.

Maranatha's draw makes their record 5-10-3 this season. As for Valley Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 5-8-5.
