Baseball Recap: Breck Snaps Four-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

Breck dropped their record down to 10-6 on Monday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins on the road. They fell just short of the Minneapolis South Tigers by a score of 3-1. The Mustangs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Breck saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Owen Van Horn, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. Van Horn has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

As for Minneapolis South, their record is now 6-8. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory they have posted since May 28, 2024.

On Minneapolis South's side, Oliver Lindstrom was excellent, going 1-for-2 with one home run and two runs. Lindstrom has become a key player for the Tigers: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 3-8 otherwise.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Breck will head out to challenge Jefferson at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Minneapolis South, they will venture away from home to square off against Kennedy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Eagles' pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so the Tigers' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
