Basketball Recap: Pike County Takes a Loss

Pike County won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Friday. They were beaten by the Morgan County Bulldogs 67-19. The Pirates were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 49-16.

Despite the loss, Pike County still got an impressive performance from Yadi Rosado, who posted 13 points and six boards. That was a full 68.4% of Pike County's points, marking the third time in a row he's scored more than a third of the team's points.

Morgan County was led to victory by Zeki Locus and Jaylen Elder. Locus went 6 of 12 on his way to 12 points along with seven assists and six rebounds, while Elder went 5 for 10 en route to 13 points in addition to six boards and five assists. Locus is also crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Jacoby Simmons was another key player, putting up ten points and four steals.

Pike County's defeat dropped their record down to 2-17. As for Morgan County, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season.

Pike County didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 70-61 loss against Callaway on the 3rd. As for Morgan County, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 49-37 victory against Rutland on the 1st.
