Baseball Recap: High Tech SD Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

High Tech SD had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Hoover Cardinals with a sharp 13-1 win. Considering the Storm have won seven contests by more than eight runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Devon Caris and Adrian Acevedo made a splash while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Caris tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Acevedo didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Caris also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because High Tech SD is 9-1 when he allows at most three earned runs, but 4-5 otherwise. At bat, Caris went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run, while Acevedo went 2-for-3 with four stolen bases and four runs. Those four runs gave Acevedo a new career-high.

In other batting news, Liam Watters was incredible, going 2-for-3 with six RBI, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those six RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Xavier Johnson, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.

High Tech SD's record now sits at 13-6. As for Hoover, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-19-1 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: High Tech SD beat Hoover by a score of 11-5 on Friday.
