Basketball Recap: Mesquite Comes Up Short

The Mesquite Skeeters were within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 65-61 to the Vista Ridge Rangers. The Skeeters have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Mesquite's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Vista Ridge, their win bumped their record up to 5-1.

Looking ahead, Mesquite won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Leadership Prep at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Vista Ridge, they and MacArthur will face off at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday without much rest, having both just played. The Rangers will be up against the Cardinals' rather soft defense (which has allowed 59.5 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
