Basketball Game Preview: Washington Blue Lions vs. Miami Trace Panthers

The Washington Blue Lions are taking a road trip to challenge the Miami Trace Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Washington is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They secured a 65-59 W over Lynchburg-Clay on Tuesday. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Blue Lions considering their 29-point performance the match before.

Meanwhile, Miami Trace put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They came within five points of losing the streak, but they secured a 47-42 W against Hilliard Davidson. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 46th, while the Wildcats are ranked 163rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Miami Trace pushed their record up to 19-0 with the win, which was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Washington, their victory bumped their record up to 9-12.

Washington came up short against Miami Trace when the teams last played back in January, falling 61-54. Can Washington avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
