Baseball Recap: Calhoun Takes a Loss

Calhoun managed to slip by Horace Mann the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Cougars came up short against the Lions on Saturday, falling 14-4.

Quentin Ruffin was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. That triple was his first of the season.

Calhoun's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Horace Mann, they pushed their record up to 4-0 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Calhoun is set to challenge their familiar foe Loyola at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Horace Mann will face off against rival Trinity at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
