League recap: Glunk dominating on the mound for Jersey Shore

Heartland I league recap: 5/30/13

Heartland I's top pitcher this week was Jersey Shore's Chris Glunk. He won one game and struck out eight batters.

Montoursville had a successful week, as it won two total games to lead the league. The Warriors beat Wellsboro 2-0.

The Bulldogs' Glunk led the league in strikeouts this week with eight. With 49 strikeouts this year so far, he ranks second in the league.

The highest batting average in the league this week belonged to Jersey Shore's Christian Rishel, who churned out two hits in three at bats for a .667 average. He's batting .450 on the year, which puts him at seventh in the league. Rishel has accumulated 27 base knocks this year so far.



Glunk struck out eight in the Bulldogs' 2-0 win over Shamokin Area on May 25. Over five innings of work, he gave up three hits and zero runs.
