Basketball Game Preview: Algonac Muskrats vs. Yale Bulldogs

Algonac is 0-10 against Yale since February of 2018 but things could change on Friday. The Algonac Muskrats will challenge the Yale Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m.

Algonac is headed into Friday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their sixth straight game on Tuesday. They took a 74-62 hit to the loss column at the hands of Croswell-Lexington. While losing is never fun, the Muskrats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 521st, while the Pioneers are ranked 149th).

Meanwhile, Yale entered their tilt with Imlay City on Tuesday with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. They came out on top against the Spartans by a score of 46-33.

Yale pushed their record up to 11-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 4.6 points across that stretch. As for Algonac, their loss dropped their record down to 3-6.

Algonac suffered a grim 67-41 defeat to Yale in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. Can Algonac avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
