Volleyball Recap: La Mirada Matadores vs. Mayfair Monsoons
La Mirada was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 16th straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Mayfair Monsoons. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Monsoons this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.
In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, La Mirada sadly wound up on the wrong side. The final score came out to 25-18, 23-25, 25-23, 24-26, 16-14.
La Mirada's loss dropped their record down to 1-19. As for Mayfair, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 9-16-1.
Looking ahead, La Mirada will take on Samueli Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Mayfair, they will head out to take on Downey at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
