Baseball Recap: Saltillo Comes Up Short

The home team had come away the winner the last four times Saltillo and North Hopkins had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. Saltillo came up short against North Hopkins on Friday, falling 17-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-2 last Tuesday.

Saltillo's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for North Hopkins, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-2 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Saltillo will head out to challenge Campbell at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Saltillo is facing Campbell at the right time seeing as Campbell is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for North Hopkins, they will challenge Wolfe City at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. North Hopkins will also cruise into their next contest with the timing on their side: Wolfe City will have lost four straight heading into Tuesday's matchup.
