The Nordhoff Rangers will face off against the Santa Ynez Pirates at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Santa Ynez will be up against a hot Nordhoff team: the squad just extended their winning streak to four. Nordhoff beat Ojai Valley on Saturday by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 22-5.

Johnny Perez made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March of 2024. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing Two bases. while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Scotty Luttenberger, who went 4-for-5 with five RBI, three runs, and two doubles. Those doubles marked the first that he hit this season. Another player making a difference was Jaxson Middough, who scored three runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-4.
Nordhoff always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .628. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Santa Ynez got themselves on the board against Bishop Diego on Monday, but Bishop Diego never followed suit. They blew past the Cardinals 18-0. With that win, the Pirates brought their scoring average up to 7 runs per game.
Tate Minus made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 14 over five innings pitched. Minus was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.
In other batting news, Santa Ynez got a massive performance out of Hayden Blunt, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and five RBI. Jaxon Glover was another key player, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4.
The victory got Santa Ynez back to even at 2-2. As for Nordhoff, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Nordhoff has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.9 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Santa Ynez struggles in that department as they've been averaging 2.8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Nordhoff took their win against Santa Ynez in their previous matchup back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 15-5. Does Nordhoff have another victory up their sleeve, or will Santa Ynez turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
