Flag Football Game Preview: Thousand Oaks Lancers vs. Agoura Chargers

The Thousand Oaks Lancers will face off against the Agoura Chargers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Thousand Oaks' offense might be in the hot seat on Tuesday considering what happened against Westlake on Tuesday. They were dealt a 28-0 loss at the hands of the Warriors. Having soared to a lofty 52 points in the game before, the Lancers' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Meanwhile, Agoura won against Westlake last Thursday with 26 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Tuesday. The Chargers put the hurt on Oaks Christian with a sharp 26-6 win. The Chargers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by 20 points or more this season.

Thousand Oaks better keep an eye on Claire Heisinger. She was instrumental in Agoura's win, throwing for 277 yards and three TDs while completing 71.1% of her passes. Heisinger is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as she's now passed for three or more in each of the last three games she's played. Agoura's leading receiver Jenna Grudsky was Heisinger's top target yet again, picking up 89 receiving yards and one touchdown.

Agoura's defense made their presence known, laying out the QB six times. In fact, those sacks all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Izzy Greene. Grudsky got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Agoura is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 30.9 points over those games. As for Thousand Oaks, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-8-1.

Thousand Oaks couldn't quite get it done against Agoura in their previous matchup back in September as they fell 26-14. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Heisinger, who threw for 278 yards and three TDs, and also rushed for 63 yards and one score on only five carries.
