Basketball Recap: Anclote Takes a Loss

Anclote lost against Countryside back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Anclote Sharks had to suffer through a 67-14 loss at the hands of the Countryside Cougars. The match marked the Sharks' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Countryside was led to victory by Corey Perlin and Carter Padags. Perlin went 9 for 14 en route to 21 points in addition to eight rebounds and five assists, while Padags went 8 of 15 on his way to 21 points and five boards. Perlin has been hot recently, having also posted three or more steals the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Bryce Meier, who posted six points along with five boards and three steals.

Anclote moved to 8-10 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Countryside, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Anclote will host Angeline Academy of Innovation at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Anclote is facing Angeline Academy of Innovation at the right time seeing as Angeline Academy of Innovation is stuck on a 16-game losing streak. Countryside has already played their next game (against Mitchell), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
