Recap: Beaverton Beavers vs. Jesuit Crusaders
The Beaverton Beavers fell victim to the Jesuit Crusaders''s stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They were beaten by the Crusaders 58-0. Having soared to a lofty 33 points in the game before, Beaverton couldn't push the score so high this time.
Lonnie Burt had a dynamite game for Jesuit, rushing for 150 yards and three touchdowns on only nine carries. Burt was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 67 yards. Julius Christensen was another key contributor, rushing for 60 yards and a touchdown on only seven carries.
Beaverton's loss was their fifth straight at home (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 2-6. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 10.6 points per game. As for Jesuit, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 5-4.
Beaverton does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Jesuit will be playing at home against Lake Oswego at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Oregon (Lake Oswego is ranked seventh, while Jesuit is ranked 13th).
