Basketball Recap: Bishop O'dowd's Higher State Rank on Full Display on Friday

Bishop O'Dowd won the last time they faced Castro Valley and things went their way on Friday too. The Bishop O'Dowd Dragons came out on top against the Castro Valley Trojans by a score of 59-46. Given the Dragons' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 156th, while the Trojans are ranked 456th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Bishop O'Dowd has also been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-9 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.5 points per game. As for Castro Valley, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-12.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bishop O'Dowd will welcome Piedmont at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
