Baseball Game Preview: Las Cruces Bulldawgs vs. Mayfield Trojans

For the second straight game, Las Cruces will face off against Mayfield. Las Cruces will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Mayfield at 5:00 p.m. Las Cruces will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

While Las Cruces' victory against Mayfield wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Las Cruces had just enough and edged out Mayfield 4-3 on Monday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Bulldawgs have posted since February 24, 2024.

Bubba Urenda was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3. Another player making a difference was Diego Avila, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

With the defeat, Mayfield broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 5-6-1. As for Las Cruces, their victory bumped their record up to 10-2.
