Softball Recap: Dover Wins Going Away Against Wooster

Dover won the last time they faced Wooster and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Crimson Tornadoes blew past the Generals 8-2. Considering the Crimson Tornadoes have won nine matchups by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Jenna Molk was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 11 consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, firing off three home runs, four RBI, and one stolen base while going 3-for-3. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March.

Molk wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Charlie Reese, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Another was Avery Contini, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

The victory made it two in a row for Dover and bumps their season record up to 18-3. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.0 runs over those games. As for Wooster, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-16.

Coming up, Dover will take on Circleville at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Wooster, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Ashland at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Arrows have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.71 runs per game on average), something the Generals will no doubt try to take advantage of.
