Basketball Recap: Santiago Henriquez Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Foster

On Saturday, the stars were shining brightly for the Palmetto Panthers in a 78-63 victory over the Foster Bulldogs.

Palmetto's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Santiago Henriquez, who posted 28 points along with seven rebounds and five steals. That makes it eight consecutive games in which Henriquez has scored at least a third of Palmetto's points. Samfree Sarante was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on 13 points and nine rebounds.

Palmetto was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Foster only racked up 11 assists.

When it comes to explaining why Foster lost, don't look at Khadar Abdullahi. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 20 points and 11 boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Myjeer Rigney, who had 15 points.

Palmetto's record now sits at 8-4. As for Foster, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-3.

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Palmetto Panthers challenge the Pembroke Pines Charter Jaguars at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Palmetto is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 78.6 points per game this season. As for Foster, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Lindbergh at 7:15 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
