Baseball Recap: St. Augustine Has No Trouble Against St. Anthony

St. Augustine never let their opponents score on Monday. They were the clear victors by an 11-0 margin over the St. Anthony Yellowjackets. That 11-run margin sets a new team best for the Knights this season.

Joaquin Hernandez made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out nine over five innings pitched. Hernandez was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. He also hit a double, marking his first of the season.

In other batting news, Edmundo Garza was incredible, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Ali Villa was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

St. Augustine always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .536. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The win got St. Augustine back to even at 6-6. As for St. Anthony, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-13.

St. Augustine does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for St. Anthony, they have already played their next matchup, a 10-2 loss against Saint Mary's Hall on the 28th.
